Some have done it with an NFS share it can work but is unsoported, scan can be sloow, Touch is not a great server if you runned it on computer you notice and no web-UI and other limitations.
But you definitely NOT want to mount a drive over wifi :-) and it's is not recommended to have server on wifi even if ti works spledidly for many . This combo would yield 3 or4 times the normal wifi traffic. Is drobo wired or wifi ? here is how the music file would travel.
