The easiest workaround is setting a "reserved IP" or "static DHCP" via your router. That's not a true static IP, but good enough most of the time. Or to get a true static IP you can ssh into the Touch and edit the /etc/networking/interfaces file. But you may need to re-edit the file after a firmware update.
