I think it's fair to say that the consensus in this community is Flac. But you'll also find that very few people around here will claim they hear any difference between uncompressed file formats and lossless ones. And I'm certain that what you don't want to hear will be the arguments you get that there _can_ be no difference.
With Squeezebox there's no reason to choose between AIFF (or WAV) and Flac.
