Well I've successfully managed to hack the prefs file to get things
consistent with my other two servers. That was "fun".

Album art seems a real problem, I cannot get internal art to work at
all. I tried reducing the size from the original 1450x1450 supplied
with the file to 500x500 - no go. I removed those and replaced with
500x500 (about 40KB) - still no go,. I added a 200x200 "Folder,jpg"
file - still no go! Only when I deleted the internal art from each
track did I finally see any art (from my "Folder.jpg"). However, as
there are obviously some major changes there in 7.6, it doesn't make
any sense to debug that further until we try with that version.

Getting compilations/album artist stuff consistent with my SBS via the
prefs file worked well, but it's clearly not a "user task"! There HAS
to be a better way. What is the problem with opening more options to
the touch UI? Is it a matter of trying to limit the size of the code on
Touch? At the very least it really should be possible to "sync" settings
with a persons other SBS's. I have 2 "fat" servers and a "Tiny", even
getting the "fats" in sync is a bit of a pain, before you get into
SSH!

How's this for an idea? Why not have a default set of preferences which
you set up on mysqueezebox.com. Then, by default, each SBS/TinySC gets
its prefs from there (at least the non-hardware-specific bits). People
can change the default on each "fat" SC if they wish (not "Tiny", if
you wish)but I bet 90% will not.

A large proportion of new Squeezebox customers will have at least 2
servers - TinySC on a Touch and a full blown SBS. This would make the
"out of the box" experience a whole lot better as both servers would
automatically display things in the same way, instead of almost
certainly differently, as at present! Is there somewhere else I should
raise this?
