The 24/176.4 files will be downconverted by the server with the help of
SOX to 24/88.2 if you are using a fast enough (not NAS ) server.

But attaching a HD to the Touch itself this would not work it has only
fractions of the cpu and memory needed .
So the you need to downconvert on you PC to 24/88.2 for 176.4kHz files
and 24/96 for 192kHz files ( 4*44.1=2*88.2=176.4 and 4*48=2*96=192 even
multiples works best ).

I would suggest buying 24/88.2 or 24/96 from HD tracks , they charge
less for those and they would sound identical and does not need
transcoding.
