I think changing the name in the /etc/hostname file is a better
approach (see my previous post). I was watching my routers dd-wrt
status screen and while the Touch was booting the hostname changed from
"*" (I think this is caused by a name conflict with my other Touch) to
"SqueezeboxTouch2".

I think the hostname file survives software updates but not factory
resets, so it may need to be reedited from time to time.
