This is correct. You can run SbS on a local PC with your music
collection. The computer is part of local network, i.e., connected to
router (even though router is not connected to anything). Then the SBT
would be connected to same router (wifi or ethernet). And the SBT would
then play music from the SbS. You can even control with ipeng on an
ipad or itouch or iphone via the WIFI network created by the router.

Or, you can put the music on a USB harddrive, connect directly to
touch, and use TinySbS in touch. Without the router (no LAN, WIFI), you
can't use ipeng, etc. but otherwise works.

So you don't need internet connection in ether case. However, you may
need internet the very first time you set it up. So I'd set it up at a
friends house with internet, let the touch update to latest firmware,
etc. Give it your mysqueezebox.com credentials (even though you won't
use). And then you're good to go at the location with no internet.

I've done this so I know it works (heck, there are even people who use
the TOUCH in a car).
