I have a 2Tb Linkstation Pro NAS which I store all music on. Since firmware version 1.40 (now 1.41) it runs Squeezebox server. However I don't seem to be able to update the version of SB server in the Linkstation firmware, it is currently running ver 7.5.1 - r30836 which does not support Spotify (7.5.4 required). I have the option "automatically check for software updates" on and it does tell me there is a new version, 7.5.4. However I can not install it (as it must be buried in the Linkstation firmware somewhere).
The problem is that I do run Spotify on my squeezebox touch - which is fine via the server installed on my computer, but I would like to run from the Linkstation (which worked fine until I installed spotify). When I look at the plugins list there is a message at the top saying "please note: as you're running Squeezebox Server in safe mode, the plugins are not available". I didn't even know that there was a safe mode version of SB server - everything else looks normal. Could this be the root of my problem?
