Playlists have given me fits. BUT, I now have playlists that work. Now, I am using an HP MediaSmart server to supply the lossless encoded music to my Touch. Connection is ethernet.
I turned on iTunes Server in the MS WHS pane In the web browser for the SBS, I pointed the SBS to the iTunes library.xml file on the server. I also pointed it to the respective Playlist folder and music folders. In the playlist setup, I specified that iTunes playlists could be in m3u and (I forget) one other format. Fired up a rescan, and now have playlists on my Touch working, for the first time ever. I have owned the Touch for seven or more months But, in playlist mode, the Touch does not display artwork or song info.
