Well.... I've just checked my library and I have 493 different genres so it can be quite time consuming to scroll through. I think it depends upon how you tag your music. I use Musicbrainz for tagging and use the last.fm plugin to add genre tags, most of my tracks have more than one genre tag (separated by ";"). Not sure that my system is the perfect solution mind.... would be preferable to manually tag with things that are meaningful for me but that would take lots of time....
