You are correct - it turns out that the default priority for AIF is the
same as for WAV - transcode it to flac.

Brian - you should not disable the FLAC setting. Please re-enable it.

As I explained, there is no downsampling going on - and given the
choice, the default behaviour is always to try and stream everything
(all bitrates) as flac.

The general advice is that the default settings in FileTypes are tehere
for a good reason and should not be changed unless there is a compelling
reason to do so.
