Given that you have a "huge collection" of music you are almost
certainly going to be MUCH happier with the server software running on
a separate computer. It does not have to be a full blown powerful
computer with screen and keyboard etc. The server is perfectly happy
running on a small dedicated headless computer. There are quite a few
atom based "net boxes" that meet these needs nicely, some of which are
smaller than your drive and take very little power. You just stick one
of these out of the way some where in a corner and connect it to your
network.

You can even take an old slow PC and use this as a server, it doesn't
even have to be small or quiet since you can stick out of the way since
its just a server, you don't have to be AT the computer, its all done
over the network.

There is even one you can buy called a VortexBox which comes with
everything all prebuilt and loaded, plug it in, copy the files over and
you are ready to go. They also have the software available to run on an
existing computer of yours, it includes the OS and all needed software
in one package, very easy to install and maintain.

There is even a little thing called a sheeva plug, which looks like one
of those "wall wart" power supplies, but is realy a computer system. You
can connect a network cable to it, plug your USB drive in, install the
SBS software and you are off and running. Its not as fast as one of the
atom or better computer systems, but its way better than running TinySBS
on the Touch itself.
