Why would you think that? Random Mix doesn't do anything terribly complicated. It just does a database query to find the next file that it's going to load into the current playlist. Since the next song to be played is already in the playlist, you shouldn't have any pauses between tracks. Just avoid skipping a lot of tracks quickly or you could get ahead of it.
