OK, thanks, am still on 7.5.5 and have just changed from a ReadyNAS NV+ to an Ultra4+ : the responsiveness / performance are in such a completely different league that I don't really feel the need to play with 7.6 at the moment !
All crossfades / replaygain etc are off - and I've locked volume at 100% - it's just a shame that it's disappeared as a standard option. I wonder how many other people have been caught out by this & haven't noticed ?
