I believe the HK's built-in DAC is designed for CD-resolution sources - it will only process incoming data at up to 16-bit/44.1kHz (I'm assuming that maybe higher resolution is down-sampled on the fly maybe?). The Touch can output bit-perfect digital music up to 24-bit/96kHz, so you're better off getting a DAC that can handle that kind of incoming data. I personally use a DACMagic, but I'm guessing that for such an impressive amp you'll maybe want something a bit more impressive (although I personally think the DM sounds very nice indeed). Remember, all DACs upsample and increase the bit-depth internally, but for the Touch you really need something that will accept and process *incoming* raw data of up to 24/96. -- Dave1972 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dave1972's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44446 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89093 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
