Scan for new and changed , would make it even messier (with correct AND
the old wrong ones apearing sisde by side ).

Clear and rescan everything , would be the scanning you should choose.

Also , do you use a good tag editor such as mp3tag ? (works for all
other formats to ) .

To see if you have multiple tag types like id3v1 and id3v2 in the same
mp3 or id3v and flac tags in flac files etc .

What can happen is that if you edit just one tag type with a not so
smart taggging software is that there is different and conflicting
information in the files .

The solution is to use only one tag type for example id3v2.4 for mp3
files .
