With s/pdif I get an identical correlation over 110 for both FLAC and
PCM against the original rip.
This is using an M-Audio 24/96 Audiophile card, with ADM sample rate
correction enabled on 16/44.1 source material.

THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE BITSTREAM. Period. It is absolutely
"bit-perfect" for both FLAC and WAV sourced material.
Jitter does not/cannot affect this particular test (it does affect
analogue tests).

Do you use Replaygain? That would lower the FLAC correlation on this
particular test...

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
