Yep worked for me as NONE of the 7.6 worked for me, or if they did it was only a day or so then I got the same error as you. 7.7 has been flawless for me for weeks now. I seem to remember reading in the beta section 7.7 is supposed to be released out of beta this Monday the 24th. BUT we shall see... Till then, I be happy :)
