I'd assume so, but someone else will need to chime in and I'm not sure
if using a NAS changes anything (some NASs can deal with transcoding). 
(I've never tried to stream any AIFF files). Of course, if it was me,
I'd simply convert the AIFF files to FLAC files using foobar2000 or
dbpoweramp or some other program. No need to maintain AIFF files when
you can have lossless version. But that's just me.
