I too am seeing this on the Controller, I believe it began when I updated to Version 7.6.1 of the Squeezebox Server.
Does anyone know if the newest version still displays non-square cover art with the black bars around it? I have quite a few box sets that this happens to. It was much more visually appealing (to me anyway) to have the wallpaper show instead of the black bars.
