Couldn't agree more on the music backups. that's my most critical issue. I personally have some extra TOUCH units, just because I'm particulary fond of the synch ability, etc. So I'd prefer to replace a dead unit (transporter or touch) with another SB player if I could, even if no longer supported by logitech. (and the $209 I paid for my last new TOUCH is much less than I spent on CDs last month.) Of course all this is in the short to medium term.
