Couldn't agree more on the music backups. that's my most critical
issue.  I personally have some extra TOUCH units, just because I'm
particulary fond of the synch ability, etc.  So I'd prefer to replace a
dead unit (transporter or touch) with another SB player if I could, even
if no longer supported by logitech. (and the $209 I paid for my last new
TOUCH is much less than I spent on CDs last month.)  Of course all this
is in the short to medium term. I'm sure 10 or 20 years from now, it
will all be something different....(but the need to have my digital
files will be important no matter what system I might migrate to in the
future).
