browse folders is not the servers strong side it's rather slow on slower hardware mostly because the slow server has to open folders(on a computer you won't notice this especially on modern PC's unless you have 10000 tracks in one folder), so a dB of tagged files is much faster . Even in the full server version browse folder is a second class solution, mostly there to find untagged files or for testing not as the primary browse mechanism.(they even had thoughts of removing it completely from the server ) They really mean for us to use album or artist, genre and search etc . So a well tagged and organized collection is the path of least resistance . Otherwise ss/sc/sbs/lms is a rather uphill struggle sometimes. It's the tagging and ripping and organizing that takes most of the time (not fretting with the system ) It's like maintaining a stamp collection . You keep them neatly in albums or just throw them all in a plastic bag , what would be easier to browse ? The Tiny server is just the same as the normal server (but some features are off ) so it scans at first but if keep the card connected all the time it would not be that often. But think outside the (squeeze)box, Touch can run music services like spotify MOG and others stand alone without a server running at all .
