There is always the releasenote http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Release_Notes
However from the notes it is not always clear if there are performance improvements in a given release. And it is also not clear what features you do not get when running Touch embedded server or some puny NAS. I assume the you can't use the new DLNA plugin that was introduced in 7.7.0. All said there are big performance improvements in 7.6.0+7.6.1 for scanning and artwork handling. And even that you do not get the benefit of new features you will still get error corrections -- slate Main: Receiver (Audiocom) -> Beresford Caiman+ (Gatorized) -> Carver A-500x -> B&W 704 Office: Receiver -> Luxman L-210 -> Stax SR84 Pro -> Beresford Caiman (Gatorized) -> Superlux HD668B Server: Zotac IONITX-A, 4 GB, 1 TB WD EADS, Win7 w. 7.6 (SQLite w.
