I have been trying for weeks now to improve my connectivity by
connecting my Touch wired vs. wirelessly to LMS 7.2. Wireless connects
fine and works well except for occasional dropouts. Reading through the
Touch Toolbox (most of which is far too esoteric for me to even think
of trying) I decided to try to improve things by connect with an
ethernet cable to some kind of wireless bridge. I tried the Amped
Wireless Repeater for a week but could never get the Touch to make a
wired connection to my network. When the Touch is connected with
ethernet to my router, no problem, it connects immediately. I thought
the Repeater was bad so returned it. This week I tried a Netgear
Powerline box setup--two little modules that plug into the wall and
have ethernet ports. The little boxes can communicate to one another,
but again, when I plug the Touch into one with a cable, the Touch
cannot connect to my network. I tried entering my network settings in
by hand but again no luck. What is going on? Why can't my Touch
recognize my network when it's asked to connect via ethernet cable?
Once I switch the Touch option to "connect via wireless," no problem,
I'm up and running. And again, the Touch connects fine via ethernet to
my router. It just won't sync up with a bridge. Tell me what I'm doing
wrong!
