I'd also recommend you try the Touch's built-in analog outputs for a while before buying an external DAC.
First, that will let you get used to the Squeezebox experience without investing a bunch more money. Make sure you're comfortable with the process of ripping your CDs to a high quality format (e.g., FLAC, etc.) and become familiar with the user interface and regular operation.
