Ok. I got it solved. Recreated the playlist in winamp. SCP'd the file into STB. Accessed the file through ssh and modified the playlist(absolute file path) using vi. I kept the playlists in /media/sda1/songs/playlist. None of the playlists worked again.
Now just moved the files to /media/sda1/Playlist (default playlist directory of STB) here it goes, now all playlists worked like charm, even without any rescan or reboot of STB. Now whenever I create playlists in may laptop using winamp, all I need to do is open the playlist in wordpad, just modify the path structure and then copy the playlist into STB /media/sda1/playlists. Not that painful.
