Thanks Gary - competing LMSs as you indicated were exactly the problem. I accessed the LMS on my ReadyNAS and tweaked the setting for the Audioscrobbler and it's scrobbled away successfully.
One other question, if I wanted to play media that was -only- on my laptop, would I have to fire up the LMS on my laptop in order to do that?
