I use embedded art for a number of reasons , foremost the file is self sufficient if I pick single songs to be used in another context they still have their art and for downloaded albums it has been common with different art for every track ?
But I still keep a cover.jpg/folder.jpg for each album , in case some software prefers that . > 500*500 since I got an iPad . Always use jpeg ! Resizing png or bmp is a memory hog for the server bitmaps are the worst . Especially if you use embedding , embedding a large BMP is not a good thing. People, that use the Touch stand alone have problems with large art and non jpeg art, sometimes also embedded art ?
