I have 500 CD's on two 32 GB flash drives. My Sony megaplayers died and I'm thinking of tossing the CD's.
My computer is in another room from my home stereo and even tho it's wireless, I'm not crazy about leaving my puter on all the time.....so I'm interested in the Touch and I'm thinking I have the following options: 1. get an IPOD Classic and run it into a 'qualitiy' dock and then component cable it (my receiver is 30 yrs old) to my receiver. I understand the i-20 dock will convert the signal from analog to digital and give me very good sound. 2. get the SB Touch, and use a HDD powered with a power hub. to hold my collection...but I understand the HDD's scan a whole lot and low everything down and might be buggy....I understand when they sleep, they go thru an entire scan each time awoken.... Would a solid state drive be better? Would I need an external power suppy with a solid state drive? 3.How about if I use a 64 or 128 GB flash thumb USB drive? I read it wouldn't need external power suppy. 4. separate barebones mini computer just for the SB, since they're so small it could hide in my stereo cabinet. Would I need to buy Windows to load my music collection onto it? Wouldn't just going with #3 eliminate all the problems described above? Many thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------ LeeA's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56330 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95360 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
