Hard to give you a clear answer as I had the TP PSU in for quite a while prior to Triode's USB implementation being successful. I have not done any testing or listening via USB with and without the TP, having preferred just to leave it in. At the time I purchased it (when there was no USB capability), I felt there was a slight positive difference in the overall sound and now, psychologically, it just makes me feel better to leave it in there ;).
