I have been using the Touch connected via coax to an external non-USB DAC (Audio Aéro Prestige Signature, with Burr-Brown PCM1792 24/192). Yesterday I did the following: 1. First played some 192 files via the Touch (no changes, out of the box), with success, although with the occasional stutter, and obviously down-sampled to 96. 2. Installed Triodos' app, with no problems, incl. firmware upgrade and changed the output to digital only. 3. Played 44, 88 and 96 files: all play well. 4. 'Played' 192 files: no sound. The DAC says "no lock". 5. Tried the same via toslink (instead of coax): same, no luck, no lock.
Two questions: (1) Can this be a problem with the DAC (in spite of its 24/192 compatibility), or am I doing something wrong with the app installation/settings? (2) Should I de-install the app or not? I am asking because I remember there was mention in this thread that the app also affects 44, 88 and 96 playback in a positive way.
