I changed the FLAC settings from native to sox and now the 176/24 "Love in Vain" plays through the Metrum as I speak. Now for 192/24 which isn't supported by the Metrum Dac - although some users have reported that their Metrum Octave DAC will lock on 192/24 material.
Let's try Antonio Forcione & Sabine Sciubbos's "Meet Me in London" track "Caruso" ............... NO LUCK. Which means that I am limited to 176/24. It does not matter much, but it means that I will have all my 192/24 files (all 22 of them ...) downsampled - most likely I will convert them and store them on the server @ 96/24. There is also the chance that a Hardware USB to SPDIF converter like JKenny's Hiface MK. II will enable 192/24 playback and improve SQ because it reclocks the audio stream (II believe). That is all for today's testing. Now its on to some music!
