I do understand, I have no issues with the network player and the
functionality - in fact I think its the very best. I am hopeful that the
SQ from a mass market device is up to Audiophile standards (I hate the
word Audiophile by the way, it just sound so snobby) - but with with
this EDO tweak I am hoping that it will reach the giddy heights of being
a top notch transport for a DAC (after all there are no mechanical
moving parts when comparing an SBT with a CD Player).

Especially in my case where I would use the EDO function to feed an
async USB DAC thus not concerning myself with the poor jitter results
that John Westlake (creator of the MDAC) measured usingthe coax
connection from the SBT you are using. Using the USB out of the SBT into
an async DAC bypasses all that by effectively clock locking the DAC (at
least I think that's how it works).
