I am running Squeezebox product on HP EX495 server. It works
fantastically.

However, I recently encountered a problem with the system partition of
the server filling up. As far as I can tel now, it seems that the
biggest usage of space is Squeezebox for its cache. The server does not
allocate a lot of space for the system partition because it uses the
remainder of available space for backups and media collection files. The
space is so tight that it will sometimes hangup and I have to delete
some log files just to get enough to continue to run.

Why does the cache use so much space - on my system it is currently
7.4GB out of the available total of 20GB.

Is there a way to point the cache at a different drive on the server? (
I currently have 3TB of storage space in separate drives, with 2.4TB
free.)

Should the cache be regularly cleaned out? And if I do that, what am I
losing? Also, that would seem a limiting factor in how much music could
be maintained on the system.
Since this is a server, it would be nice to be able to set it up and
ignore it. If one has to do regular cleanups, it is not set and forget.

At this point, can I run the cache cleanup and be assured that I do not
have to reload anything or re-enter information? Will that back down the
space used by the cache or will it rescan and go right back to where it
was?
