Dear all,

Sorry if my question is too elementary or has been discussed somewhere
else in this forum.

My setup is as follows:-

Synology DS112 (with LMS Version: 7.7.2 - r33893)
SB Touch (with firmware Version: 7.7.2 - r9663) with EDO installed
Anedio D2 (connecting with SB Touch via USB)
All my music files (16/44, 24/96 or 24/192) are in AIFF format

As all my music files are in AIFF format, in the
LMS>Setting>Advanced>File Type>AIFF, I have only selected "AIFF-AIFF" to
Native to avoid any transcoding. For 16/44 file, this setting streams
the music file from the NAS to the SB Touch perfectly. I also note that
sampling frequency is properly switched to 44kHz for the Anedio.
However, for 24/96 files (or higher) files, all I hear is hiss sound
from the speaker.

To deal with this problem, I adopted the above setting except that I
have also checked "AIFF-FLAC" to ffmpeg. With this setting, I can now
hear sound generated from the speaker for 24/96 files with one big
drawback though -- the sampling frequency is locked at 48kHz (instead of
96kHz). Accordingly, it appeared that down-sampling somehow happened
as result of the AIFF to FLAC conversion. This phenomenon (48kHz locked
sampling rate) apply to 16/44 and 24/192 files with "AIFF-FLAC" -ffmpeg
activated.

In a nut shell, the system only works for 16/44 (CD quality) music
files. For 24/96 or 24/192 files, the "incorrect" sampling rate has been
used due to the involuntary transcoding to FLAC under LMS. Is this the
limitation of LMS or SB Touch? Alternatively, is there anything wrong
with my setting that might cause this problem?

Thank you very much for your advice in advance.
