Your only problem is the fan noise from the laptop :) as ralphy explained the controll always go trough the server in all cases so it is technically the same regardless of controll location . If you noticed the Touch itself is a controller and a player , it can controll other players too if you got more than one there is an choose player menu ,so all controll goes via the server anyway and also most of the content in the menus are produced by the server so Touch does not know about your artist or such thing it's the server(s) ( you can have more than one of those to ) .
