Well, it turns out you were right Guido. I couldn't get into the Touch
using WinSCP but after posting my above reply, I thought I would  double
check that I was using the right IP address. Turns out it had changed
from what I had written down. I used the correct IP address and got in.
Used the tt -x command and it turned the screen on. What puzzles me is
how the "off" command could have been issued since I hadn't used WinSCP
in weeks. Strange. In any case, it's working. Thanks for your suggestion
