Well, I'm not sure how, but in the course of reinstalling LMS/SC, I managed to undo the plugin that keeps my windows machine awake. I fiddled with it for a couple of weeks, and realized it wasn't my NIC that was the problem. windows7 is just retarded and needs to be told to stay awake unless there is mouse/keyboard. It apparently ignores network activity, and just goes to sleep.
