I have given up. About a month ago I was able to get a successful scan of music on my Toshiba hard drive. It was working with occasional crashes, but it would work. However, one day is really crashed hard and I could not get it to release the USB HD. The LMS database had corrupted files, so I deleted it and have been unable to get a successful scan again. In addition what I mentioned earlier (page 1), have reserved an IP address and I do not do anything with the Touch while it is trying to scan. In a desperate attempt to get it to work again I reformatted the HD (FAT32), recopied all the music, and did a factory reset on the Touch. I was still unsuccessful getting it to scan the music. It does work on a 8 GB flash drive. Maybe is the USB powered issue? I don't know.
I have observed it does not appear to be an artwork problem. The problem is scanning files, which is between discovering files and caching artwork. Perhaps it is some of my tags, but I deleted the non-essential tags from the files. I suspect there may be a hardware/software problem with the USB connection as sometimes it does not want to let go of the hard drive. For example, it say you can disconnect the drive, but the drive keeps spinning. When I go to USB information it shows the name of my hard drive. However, it will not start LMS with the message of no USB drive attached. I am thinking about getting an Olive One or if the community funded replacement supports a hard drive I might look at that. Thanks for the suggestions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ P Nelson's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58158 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98106 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
