Got the very same behavior with the NFB-27 featuring the VT1731 chip (called "USB32" by Audio-GD). This was with the Audio-GD's firmware #4 (async only). I switched to the spare firmware (#3 which is either Async or Adaptive I believe). This one works like a charm on the Squeezebox but it reports adaptive mode, not async. This might be related to the bug in the Audio Kernel reported by JaMo above. This could well be the reason why the Resonessence Concero does not output sound either.
