That is pretty easy, as spdif is a simple, one-way link, whereas USB requires a lot of smart handshaking. A spdif data stream is just audio, whereas the data over USB can be pretty much anything. So an audio stream over USB is easy to map to a spdif audio stream, but a spdif data stream doesn't map into USB data very easily. "To try to judge the real from the false will always be hard.
