Pale Blue, you did note initially that "I'm trying to play 24/96
needledrops that I've listened to dozens of times with the SB3 and
Roku2. The Touch plays 24/48 files without a problem, but when fed
24/96". with the SB3 (and I'm guessing the Roku2), since the SB3 can
only handle 24/48, LMS was converting the 24/96 files to 24/48 on the
fly. So the fact that the DAC worked with the SB3 doesn't mean that the
DAC can actually handle 24/96. With the TOUCH, LMS is *not* converting
the files to 24/48 and is feeding the 24/96 files to the DAC. I'm
suspecting the DAC as well.

To test, can you connect a laptop running something like foobar2000 to
play the 24/96 files through your DAC? What is the make/model of your
DAC?
