I had this problem when I was using logitechs plugin. I noticed that if you search for an, say, an album, you often get the same album several times. These seem to correspond to different areas of publication. So if you just try all of them you should be able to find the one for your area. Only problem is that there is no way to tell which one is the correct one for you, so it can be a little tedious. An other little trick is to make playlists in Spotify with the Spotify app on your desktop (or whatever other device you use with Spotify). Then find the playlist in the Spotify app on you squeezebox. Again this is a little tedious, but it will always play because the desktop app only shows you the versions available in your area.
Of course if you have the option try switching to Triodes plugin, it solved the problem for me. In fact that is one the main reasons I am using Triodes plugin. I have no Idea if it will run on your NAS, but why not just give it try?
