If you can afford them I would definitely recommend the 'KEF X300a speakers' (http://www.hifigear.co.uk/kef-x300a-digital-hi-fi-speaker-system.html) they sound very good indeed on 600mm tall stands either side of my PC, just like a proper old skool hi-fi system really but without all the ugly black boxes.
