Not realy the design of the squeezebox makes it server agnostic the audio system on the server does not matter (it does not even have to have one ) it's actually the player that plays the files not the computer adn a really huge buffer >30 seconds over async network makes it works the same if whatever network you have can keep up , otherwise you get stuttering and re-buffering not subtle sq changes it either works or don't , If you keep the squeezebox volume at 100% and don't use replay gain tags you have bit perfect output if that matters , if you use the volume it works on both analog and digital outputs The squeezebox is a great way to not be fudging with wasapi , asio or direct streaming kernel streaming and whatnots and resampling :) Amarra is a bit woo woo in places but it automates so that you dont have to manually set sample rates when using iTunes it's other claims are dubius at best . -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
