Hi All,

I have a SB Touch which serves music stored on a Vortexbox NAS (running
LMS) to my music system and all works well with one exception. As is
standard with the VBox, the source files are FLAC and mp3 and the SB
Touch routinely access the FLAC files. Connectivity is via an ethernet
cable but I do have everything hooked up to a wireless LAN. So far so
goodish ...

But having used iTunes in the past, I find the Playlist function which
the SB Touch offers to be incredibly clunky in comparison to iTunes.

As I am about to replace my laptop, which is still in fundamentally good
working order, I was wondering if I could use the laptop as a secondary
NAS for selected music files and create Playlists in iTunes which I have
on the laptop. Where I'm unsure (and I should have said at the start
that I'm computer/streaming illiterate) is 1) whether or not the SB
Touch can also interface (wirelessly preferably but not necessarily)
with iTunes to stream music from my laptop. And 2) as I understand that
iTunes does not support FLAC, if I convert the files to Apple Lossless
will the SB Touch play those files? Finally 3) how does the SB Touch
find my laptop (it finds the VBox automatically but I cannot see how to
point it at my laptop.

Am I on a wild goose chase or is what I would like to do technically
feasible? If the latter, any help to get me to where I want to be would
be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

John
