I'm using the BBC Radio applet. It is set to receive highest bitrate. On BBC R2 I was trying to get Seth Lakeman from 10.00 p.m. Monday, but after it "refused" I tried other R2 content with the same result. Under "more information" the stream was said to be 128k WMA. Same with "25 Years of Rock" on 6Music. The streams on Radios 3/4 & 4X were all AAC. I'm using a SB Touch (but the same thing happens on my SB radio. I'm not sure what you mean by "format setting" I am in the UK.
