As much of the internet content on this subject is based on Soundcheck's
toolboxes, which are no longer available. I would like to start a thread
to discuss the current best practices, without spending too much, to get
the best out of my SBT.

My impression is that the value of hardware tweaking is debatable,
especially when using digital outputs, but that there may be some
benefit to investing in a linear power supply and/or '\"sbooster single
unit\"' (https://www.sbooster.com/sbooster-upgrade/).

* I am thinking of a relatively cheap, Chinese, 2,5A linear power supply
with the sbooster, which would still be considerably cheaper than an
"audiophile label" power supply. All of this will have to wait for next
year's budget

* Although my DAC/preamp limits me to 24bit / 96 kHz, there may be some
advanatage in triode's ESO and screen off plugins.

*Disabling unused services is good best practice, so wifi and samba
should be disabled. I have already done this and the unit runs noticably
cooler.

At the moment I can't comment on the audio quality as I am testing at
work, through headphones. WAF demands that there be as few problems as
possible once i get it home.

*I did try dynobot's RT mods from 'this'
page but suffered some segfaults and spontaneous reboots, so will need
to work out what was causing the problem before trying again.

If there are any current best practices for a pure s/pdif out setup,
without using Soundcgheck's tweaks I'd be very happy to know.
