Hi Apesbrain,

I have exactly the same setup, I use a Squeezebox Touch which is
connected to a NAD 3020. Just some days ago I stumbled upon the firmware
update provided by NAD which adds the feature you are referring to -
they call it TV Connect. It was bugging me for quite some time, that I
had to wake the little NAD from sleeping before playing music. The new
feature sounded like the solution and ... it worked!

I connect the SB Touch with a optical to OPT1 on the NAD. I have the
most recent firmware on the NAD - 2.8. It seems you have to switch on
Auto Standby and Auto Sense Mode. It might also be necessary to learn
the IR codes, at least thats what is described here:
http://nadelectronics.com/download.php?150424095735-D3020_TVconnect_v07.pdf|D%203020%20With%20TV%20Connect

I did all three and it did cost me some nerve to make sure the both auto
modes are switched on. The only feedback you get is some flashing of the
front panel indicators. Nevertheless, it does work flawlessly. As soon
as the SB Touch sends some audio, the NAD wakes up.

Just make sure of the following:
1) Firmware 2.8 is what works for me
2) Auto Sense and Standby have to be on
3) You might have to perform the IR learning but I don't see why it
should be necessary (but it is also convenient - SB touch remote also
controls the volume of the NAD)
4) Use the OPT1 input

I can only assume that you use coax instead of optical?
And another thing just come to my mind - Auto Sense only works when the
NAD fell into standby automatically not if you switch it off by hand!
