FWIW, when I update 7.9 nightlies, which I do regularly, my Boom display always shows unrecognizable text following the update. I use the "music information screen" plugin so, to fix issue, this I change from "music information screen" back to the default now playing, stop LMS, restart LMS, then proceed to change back to "music information" screen plugin. It works this way for many months now.
